About Stand and Salute: Our Veterans

Stand and Salute: Our Veterans is a national PBS documentary aimed at raising much-needed awareness about the men and women who’ve served our country. Camouflaged among us, dressed in civilian clothing, nearly 22-million veterans are struggling to acclimate to civilian life. The documentary covers a myriad of topics including homelessness, the “invisibility” of vets who have recently become civilians, an update on LGBT service members, and smart solutions addressing veterans’ issues on a variety of fronts including Veterans’ Courts. Veterans’ Courts in California are helping to prevent incarceration while rebuilding lives. As one veteran interviewed exclaimed, “Don’t put your veterans in prison.”
